Taskbar Meters

I love the program and the idea, but the one thing that really bugs me, is that it shows up in both alt + tab and flip 3d (though i rarely use flip 3d). It would be great to see a way were either the program is hidden from these menus and/or make it only appear in the taskbar and not have a visible window (so when you hover you dont see the open window). But the main quirk is showing in alt + tab

If I could change the icons would appear more consistent. In general it would be a good option.

According to http://msdn.microsoft.com/de-de/magazine/dd942846.aspx (near figure 3) it's easy to have one application running that uses different taskbar icons. So I think it would make sense to merge all those meters into one exe and just have them enable-able :)

Sorry for the trivial question. I am no expert. How can I install these meters? Taking the exes into the autostart folder and establishing a link in the taskbar?

I had many difficulties to find how to display only the icons in the taskbar: I had to change the taskbar properties by selecting "Always combine, and hide the text".

Furthermore, clicking Open Task/Resources Manager doesn't work: none of these application is run :( Very strange...

As another guy already asked it, I would like the % to be displayed in the button.

audio output meter

left and right speaker peaks a bit like audacity output level meter ,

with top half left speaker bottom half right speaker.

or even 5.1 peak meter like srs audio sandbox

with maybe middle mouse button to mute, and left to select and scroll for volume.

your meters are brillant .

i also like the idea of a download meter to monitor either download peaks and upload peaks OR both,

eg top half upload bottom half download

Folks,

I looked into this a while ago and it looks like much of this information is proprietary, i.e. there isn't a nice abstraction via API. So I won't be taking it on, but the source is here in CodePlex so anyone else that would like to give it a go is more than welcome!

I'm not bad with the odd graphics application and was wondering if you'd be interested in some custom made icons for the gadgets? The gadgets are using windows icons right now which look good to me, but they could look even better/targetted and fit more snugly into the space they're confined to.

I hope you don't see this as a critisism, it's really not. More an offer of help in the only area I'm good at as a way of thanks.

14mb is enormous?

I'm using two right now which consume 36mb out of 4gb I'm really not raising an eyebrow.

In years gone by I would have refused to install anything that started with Windows that used more than a few mb, but times have changed and it just doesn't seem important anymore.

It doesn't really seem important to me that flip3D is supported. That's always been a gimmick of a thing anyway. Nobody actually uses it to task switch do they? really? hehe

Fantastic little gadgets. Windows has been crying out for gadgets that do exactly this in the taskbar. You not only did it but made them as stable as any addon to windows I've ever used.

Brilliant job.

I've got them running on a four core x64 windows 7 installation. No problems at all.
